LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) — The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences Translational Research Institute is awarding $493,000 to 10 researchers for various pilot projects.
The one-year awards of approximately $50,000 each are provided for projects to considered to be the strongest prospects of being “translated” — or adapted — to public use.

All the researchers receiving the awards are faculty in the UAMS College of Medicine.
The UAMS Translational Research Institute was established in 2009 with funding assistance from the National Institutes of Health.
