Another Mel Gibson rant has been recorded and released. And this one is as difficult to listen to as the previous recordings from his baby mamma and ex-girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva. (Mel made racial and ethnic slurs and misogynistic comments in 2010 while the two battled over custody of their daughter.)
Screenwriter Joe Ezsterhas has released a recording of a rant from December at Mel’s Costa Rica home. Joe had been working on the script for Mel’s Judah Maccabee project. Earlier this month, the writer penned a letter to Mel, accusing him of making anti-Semitic remarks.
And now, both audio and a transcript of the recording were made public by the Wrap.
The recording was made by Joe’s 15-year-old son, who the writer says was “adamant” it be made public.
“ ‘No one has the right to treat another human being that way,’ ”
Joe quotes his son to the Wrap. “ ‘This tape shows him the way he really is.’ ”
There isn’t much of the tape that could be quoted because of the graphic language, but in the 2 1/2 minute recording, Mel screams about the script, Oksana, dinner, working and money while allegedly throwing things and knocking down a totem pole.
“The bottom line is it shows to me he badly needs help,” Joe tells the Wrap. “My interest isn’t to damage him with this tape but to prevent damage being done to others, starting with Jews, including Oksana and now, I’m sure, me. I strongly believe that unless he seeks and receives some kind of psychiatric help, someone is going to get hurt.”
Now the question is, will Mel fight back by suing the writer?
According to TMZ, Mel’s team is looking into the laws of Costa Rica, to see if any were broken, or if the release of the recording violated the actor’s privacy rights.
Sources told the gossip site that Mel believes he has a basic right not to be secretly recorded in his own home.
Jason ‘on top of the world’
Jason Segel and Michelle Williams have taken their romance public.
The pair got cozy at the after-party of the premiere of Jason’s new film, “The Five-Year Engagement” at the Tribeca Film Festival.
“Michelle didn’t do the red carpet but wanted to be there for Jason’s big night,” a source told Us Weekly. “She snuck in to sit in the theater during the screening, then they all went over to the after party together.”
The eyewitness went on to say that Jason looked like he was “on top of the world” all night long.
“Jason would put his arms around her waist and they gave each other a few sweet pecks — they definitely seemed to have a physical chemistry.”
These two seem to be pretty cute, but really, after hearing Mel’s rant, anything is a welcome change of topic.
Ryan, Blake cohabiting?
Ryan Reynolds was spotted house hunting in Connecticut — and the actor wasn’t alone.
Ryan and his current main squeeze, Blake Lively, walked through the upscale town of New Canaan together, a source tells Us.
Ryan put the L.A.-area home he shared with his ex-wife, Scarlett Johansson, on the market in February and according to Us, now spends much of his time at Blake’s home in New York City.
“Ryan is practically living with her already,” a source told the mag. “When he’s at her apartment, it feels like home.”
Again, anything to help us forget that Mel rant.
