President Trump told Republicans at a dinner Tuesday night that windmills can cause cancer as part of a larger critique of wind power.
Not only do windmills greatly lower nearby property value, Trump said during his speech to a National Republican Congressional Committee dinner, “and they say the noise causes cancer.”
He then imitated the noise windmills make. There is no evidence the noise from windmills causes cancer.

Trump also complained that any area around windmills were “like a graveyard for birds.”
Trump used those examples to mock his former opponent for the presidency, Hillary Clinton, for advocating for transitioning to wind power and to argue for other forms of energy such as coal.
He has previously criticized the fact that Clinton wanted windmills to be used more widely for power.
“You know, Hillary wanted to put windmills all over the place. Let’s put up some windmills. When the wind doesn’t blow, just turn off the television darling, please. There’s no wind, please turn off the television quickly.” Trump said at a rally last month.
