Worlds collide: Mitt Romney meets Ritt Momney

A special guest came to visit Utah GOP Sen. Mitt Romney at the U.S. Capitol on Wednesday. Musician Ritt Momney and his band met the onetime presidential candidate, who shared a few photos of the encounter on social media.

“It’s said that imitation is the most sincere form of flattery. Enjoyed meeting @RittMomney and his band today. I wish them all the best!” Romney said in a tweet.

Momney, whose real name is Jack Rutter, was recognized as Billboard’s No. 1 Emerging Artist in March. His cover of the 2006 song by Corinne Bailey Rae, “Put Your Records On,” went viral on TikTok in 2020, boosting the singer’s popularity.
