Fox News’ prime-time lineup of Tucker Carlson, Sean Hannity, and Laura Ingraham had a larger combined average audience in the second quarter of 2019 than all of CNN’s programming combined.
Carlson, Hannity, and Ingraham, who ranked as the first, second, and fourth most-watched cable news programs in the second quarter respectively, had a combined average of 8,401,000 viewers, according to Nielsen Media Research.
Comparatively, CNN’s top program for the second quarter was Cuomo Prime Time, which averaged 910,000 viewers. It had the 25th-highest audience of all cable news programs. Anderson Cooper 360, Erin Burnett OutFront, The Situation Room, and CNN Tonight with Don Lemon rounded out the top five shows for the network and they combined to have an audience of 3,928,000 viewers.
When adding CNN’s remaining seven programs — The Lead, CNN Newsroom, CNN Right Now, At This Hour, Inside Politics, New Day, and Early Start — to the network’s top five programs, it brings their total average audience to 7,833,000.
Tallying all of Fox News’ 15 programs reveals an average daily audience of 26,009,000 in the second quarter of 2019, more than three times the size of CNN’s daily audience in the same time period.
