Report: Ivanka Trump and her Jewish in-laws toured Holocaust Museum

First daughter Ivanka Trump toured the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington, D.C., earlier this week with her mother- and father-in-law, Charles and Seryl Kushner, according to a report.

Ivanka Trump, who converted to Judaism before marrying her husband, Trump senior adviser Jared Kushner, went on a private tour of the facility Monday morning while her father met with healthcare insurance executives at the White House, according to a late-Friday report from Bloomberg. Jared Kushner’s late grandmother, Rae Kushner, was a Holocaust survivor and credited with helping to create the museum.

President Trump is said to be considering his own visit to the museum after stopping by the National Museum of African American History and Culture.

“It is very important to me,” Trump said last month of a visit to the Holocaust museum.

The president faced backlash word after the White House put out a statement commemorating Holocaust Remembrance Day on Jan. 27 without naming the Jews.

During his speech before a joint session of Congress on Tuesday evening, Trump condemned a recent series of threats against Jewish Community Centers and vandalism of Jewish cemeteries around the country.

“Tonight, as we mark the conclusion of our celebration of Black History Month, we are reminded of our nation’s path toward civil rights and the work that still remains,” Trump said. “Recent threats targeting Jewish Community Centers and vandalism of Jewish cemeteries, as well as last week’s shooting in Kansas City, remind us that while we may be a nation divided on policies, we are a country that stands united in condemning hate and evil in all its forms.”

Last week saw widespread bomb threats to Jewish Community Centers and schools in 33 states in the U.S., as well as two provinces in Canada.
