If there is anything that can seem so completely implausible, yet sort of plausible at the same time, it’s Nicole Kidman helping Katie Holmes through her split with Tom Cruise.
Us Weekly is reporting that while Katie was planning to take her exit from Tom and Scientology, she confided in Tom’s second ex-wife and the mother to his two adopted children, Bella, 19, and Connor, 17, from whom Nicole is estranged.
“They’ve spoken over the last few weeks,” an Us source says. “Nicole has been supportive, saying she’s been through it too and to hang in there.”
And with the Los Angeles Times reporting that Katie used a disposable cellphone to talk with lawyers about her escape, er, divorce from Tom, it would make sense that she had a private way in which to contact Nicole.
And according to the mag, this isn’t the first time the two have been in touch. The source says Katie and Nicole have been speaking since Katie married the “Mission Impossible” star in 2006.
“She has been a private friend not many people know about,” the source said.
Katie was allegedly reaching out for advice, and that’s exactly what she got. “Nicole offered her support and help.”
And really, who would know better than Nicole (who was married to Tom for 10 years) about what to expect when you’re divorcing a powerful Scientologist with whom you share a child?
Another hit for Robin
Robin Thicke totaled his Porsche on Tuesday night after crashing into a parked car.
The musician and “Duets” judge told police he was leaving the Chateau Marmont on Hollywood’s Sunset Boulevard when another car cut him off, causing him to smash into a parked Volkswagen.
Don’t fret, ladies and gents: half of one of Hollywood’s most attractive couples wasn’t injured in the accident.
According to TMZ, drugs and alcohol are not suspected to be factors in the crash.
Robin’s black convertible Porsche reportedly suffered major damage and was towed away, so a police officer gave Robin a ride to his nearby home.
More ink for Miley
Miley Cyrus has added some new ink to her 19-year-old body.
The teen didn’t choose more hearts or skulls, but a President Theodore Roosevelt quote. Yup, you read that correctly, a Teddy quote.
Miley was photographed leaving a Pilates class in West Hollywood this week, and her new ink — on her left forearm — was front and center.
The tat reads: “So that his place shall never be with those cold and timid souls who knew neither victory nor defeat.”
The line comes from a 1910 speech the president made in Paris. Talk about going old-school …
