Israeli police officers arrested six suspects Saturday after they allegedly stole a number of decommissioned guns from the Golani Museum.
All suspects were between the ages of 20 and 30 and came from Tuba-Zanghariya, about 25 miles from the museum in Golani Junction, according to police. They reportedly set off the museum’s alarm and were apparently caught on tape rummaging through the guns Friday night.

“The weapons — of historical and sentimental value to the families of fallen Golani soldiers, the entire Golani family, and the nation of Israel — will be returned to the museum,” a police statement read.
Officers found the guns hidden amid the rocks and bushes nearby. Among the recovered weapons were a mortar, an RPG, 2 MAG machine guns, 3 Galil assault rifles, an unnamed sniper rifle, an Uzi submachine gun, an unnamed carbine rifle, and an M-16 assault rifle. None of them had the ability to fire live ammunition.
