National Hockey League star Evander Kane, a forward for the San Jose Sharks, is reportedly under investigation after allegedly violating the NHL’s COVID-19 policy by submitting a false vaccination card.
The specific reason for the investigation into Kane, 30, has not been identified, according to a report citing an anonymous source confirming the investigation.

Kane is facing “allegations of inappropriate behavior potentially jeopardizing the health and safety of Club members,” the NHL said. “Lack of compliance [with league policy] will result in significant Club and individual sanctions, including potential forfeiture of games, fines and reimbursements of expenses, loss of draft choices, and/or ineligibility for participation in training activities.”
Aside from penalties by the NHL for breaking protocol, it is illegal to use a fraudulent vaccination card in the United States and Canada.
Any individual who purchases, sells, or uses a fake COVID-19 vaccine card faces charges carrying sentences of up to five years in prison in the U.S.
A person attempting to enter Canada with a fraudulent card could be incarcerated for up to six months and fined up to $750,000, according to the report.
Kane is not at the Sharks’ training camp after he and the organization agreed he would not participate following a series of domestic abuse and sexual violence allegations by his estranged wife, Anna Kane, which the NHL is investigating, according to a release.
A previous investigation into claims by Anna Kane that the forward had gambled on his games yielded no proof, the NHL announced.
