FAIRBANKS, Alaska (AP) — Another finalist seeking a position as curator at the University of Alaska Museum of the North is set to speak at a free public seminar at the University of Alaska Fairbanks next week.

UAF officials say anthropologist Claire Alix will speak about the archaeology of wood use in Alaska.

The talk is scheduled to take place at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Reichardt Building.

Alix is among three finalists for the dual position of museum archaeology curator and assistant professor at UAF’s anthropology department.

The other finalists for the position have given public talks.

Archaeologist Josh Reuther (RUTH’-ER) spoke Friday about the archaeology of the Kuskokwim River and anthropologist Kathyrn Krasinski (cra-SIN’-skee), spoke Tuesday about prehistoric subsistence.
