Only minutes after Donald Trump named Indiana Gov. Mike Pence as his running mate Friday morning, Sen. Marco Rubio announced his support for the selection, calling Pence a “rock solid” choice.
In a tweet, Rubio, a former rival of Trump during the GOP primary contest, said the Indiana governor is a “great pick” for Trump.

Trump made the announcement official shortly before 11 a.m. on Friday after initially postponing the official announcement in the wake of the terror attack in Nice, France.
Rubio has been tepid in his support for Trump, despite announcing that he plans to vote for the real estate mogul. The Florida senator announced last month that he will run for re-election to his seat after saying throughout the GOP primary campaign that he would become a private citizen if he were to lose in his bid for the White house.
