A Howard firefighter died after falling from the roof of a Key Highway museum. Mary Rollins, 27, fell while “trying to go from the roof to a catwalk” at the Baltimore Museum of Industry at about 2:30 a.m. Thursday, said Baltimore Police spokesman Officer Troy Harris.
She was pronounced dead at Maryland Shock Trauma Center, according to police.
Harris said nothing in the police report mentioned Rollins being intoxicated at the time of her death.
Rollins, who worked at an Ellicott City fire station, was a four-year veteran of the department, said Howard County Fire Department spokesman Bill Mould.
“Everyone who knew her and worked with her, to the letter, described her as a stellar employee,” Mould said.
Fire and emergency employees in Howard were grieving Thursday, and several asked for the day off to seek counseling, Mould said.
