Construction worker bit by tiger in Florida

JUPITER, Fla. (AP) — A construction worker is recovering after being bit by a tiger at a big cat sanctuary in Florida.

Florida Fish and Wildlife spokeswoman Amanda Phillips says the man was working on the property and leaning up against a cage when he was bit in the hand.

He sustained an injury to his right thumb and was taken to St. Mary’s Medical Center.

Phillips says the tiger was caged properly and that the owner of the facility was not at fault.
