President Trump on Monday slammed the CEO of Merck, one of America’s largest pharmaceutical companies, after he resigned from the president’s American Manufacturing Council in protest of Trump’s response to violence in Charlottesville, Va.
“Now that Ken Frazier of Merck Pharma has resigned from President’s Manufacturing Council, he will have more time to LOWER RIPOFF DRUG PRICES!” Trump tweeted Monday.

Merck CEO Kenneth Frazier announced Monday morning that he would resign from Trump’s American Manufacturing Council following this weekend’s deadly rally in Charlottesville.
Frazier, who is black, was one of many who criticized Trump for failing to issue a strong statement condemning the white supremacist groups involved in the rally.
One person died in Charlottesville after a 20-year-old man drove a car into a crowd of counter-protesters at the white nationalist rally.
