Alexandria police on Sunday still were trying to identify the body of a woman discovered Saturday in a trash bin on the city’s west end.
The woman, whose age and name remain a mystery, was found at 10:17 a.m. in a garbage bin behind the Parc- View Apartments, in the 5300 block of Holmes Run Parkway. The death is being investigated as suspicious, but as of Sunday had not been ruled a homicide. Police said investigators were unable to determine how the woman died simply by looking at her. There was no indication she was a ParcView resident and no immediate connection to missing-person reports. Anyone with information is asked to call Alexandria police at 703-838-4444.
Alexandria’s only confirmed homicide of the year occurred Jan. 9, when 29-year-old Kareem Timmons was found severely injured in the office building that houses the local probation and parole office.
