Retail giant Macy’s is removing a series of plates from all of its stores after CBS correspondent Alie Ward complained about the dishes on Twitter.
The plates have a series of rings labeled “skinny jeans,” “favorite jeans,” and “mom jeans” as a satirical representation of serving sizes. Ward took a photo of the plates and tweeted at Macy’s demanding that the department chain ban the product.
“How can I get these plates from @Macys banned in all 50 states,” Ward tweeted on Sunday.
“Hi, Alie — we appreciate you sharing this with us and agree that we missed the mark on this product. It will be removed from all STORY at Macy’s locations,” Macy’s official account responded.
Ward thanked the company and warned several other companies of potentially picking up the product if Macy’s begins offloading it.
“I appreciate that; thanks for hearing and taking the feedback. Sidenote: if the surplus stock winds up in TJ Maxxs and Marshalls and Ross stores across America I’m gunna lose it again,” Ward said.
