Lindsey Graham names the two biggest losers from John Bolton’s appointment: Iran and Russia

Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., predicted Friday that John Bolton’s appointment as President Trump’s new national security adviser is bad news for Iran and Russia, and would also help Trump deal with North Korea.

“One of the biggest losers in this whole selection will be the Iranian nuclear agreement, because John Bolton understands it empowers Iran,” he said on Fox News. “It almost guarantees them a nuclear weapon.”

Trump has threatened to withdraw from the nuclear agreement unless Europe and other countries agree to alter the deal to ensure Iran completely and permanently dismantles its nuclear program.

Another of the “big losers” will be Russia, Graham said.

“When it comes to Russia, I think he’s going to push President Trump to be more aggressive,” he said.

He added that the only reason North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un is willing to meet with Trump is because Kim is convinced Trump is “different,” and said Bolton will help reinforce Trump’s toughness overseas.

“He believes in the military option as a last resort,” he said of Bolton.

“John Bolton’s the right guy at the right time with a world view that I think will reinforce the president’s instincts to go after our enemies and to be a better ally,” he added.
