Former Trump adviser Roger Stone predicted on a radio show in 2016 that WikiLeaks would soon publish information that was damaging to the Clinton Foundation, on the same day he sent an email saying he had dinner with WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange.
CNN uncovered an interview with InfoWars that Stone conducted in 2016, in which he predicted that Assange would release the information soon.
“Let’s remember that their defense to all the Clinton Foundation scandals has been not, ‘we didn’t do it,’ but has been, ‘you have no proof, yes, but you have no proof,’” Stone told InfoWars in 2016. “Well, I think Julian Assange has that proof and I think he us going to furnish it for the American people.”
That comment could create complications for Stone, who has said he was never in contact with Assange, despite his email. Special counsel Robert Mueller is thought to be looking into what relationship Stone might have had with Assange.
On the same day Stone made that radio comment, Aug. 4, 2016, Stone sent an email to former Trump adviser Sam Nunberg claiming he had dinner with Assange the night before.
