Rob Reiner accuses ‘many White Evangelicals’ of signing ‘pact with Putin’

Rob Reiner asserted in a Saturday tweet that many white evangelicals had aligned with white supremacists to ink a deal with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

“Every elected Republican knows that this President is guilty of countless Impeachable offenses,” the liberal actor, director, and activist said. “But they, along with many White Evangelicals & White Supremacists have made a pact with Putin. But unlike a pact with the Devil, this one can be unsigned.”

Reiner, 72, is best known for directing films like When Harry Met Sally, The Princess Bride, and This is Spinal Tap. He has long been an outspoken critic of conservatives and has referred to Trump as racist, sexist, anti-gay, and anti-Semitic, and even compared him to the Nazis at Auschwitz. Reiner has endorsed Joe Biden for president in 2020.

Reiner, who was once married to the late iconic filmmaker Penny Marshall, is the son of comedian and actor Carl Reiner. Carl Reiner, 97, has also been outspoken against Trump and Republicans.
