Before watching her father give a speech to the people of Poland, White House adviser and first daughter Ivanka Trump quietly split off from the group to visit Warsaw’s Monument to the Ghetto Heroes on Thursday.
The White House announced Trump’s visit to the monument only after she completed her visit, and said the first daughter laid a wreath at the Monument to the Ghetto Heroes and toured the POLIN Museum of the History of the Polish Jews.
Trump, who converted to Orthodox Judaism before marrying Jared Kushner in 2009, also posted about the visit on her Twitter account and said it was a “deeply moving experience.”

“It was a privilege to pay my respects and remember, with gratitude, those who tenaciously fought against all odds,” Trump said in a statement provided to the White House. “The monument, erected on the rubble of the Warsaw Ghetto, symbolizes the fight for freedom. I am profoundly grateful for those who fought and all those who continue to fight today.”
Trump visited Poland with her father and attended his speech in Warsaw’s Krasinski Square on Thursday. The president, first lady Melania Trump, the first daughter, and White House officials then continued on to Hamburg, Germany, where President Trump is participating in the two-day G-20 summit.
