COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — BMW Manufacturing Co. is being sued over alleged discrimination at its South Carolina plant.
The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission said Tuesday BMW discriminated against black workers using a criminal background check policy. Sixty-nine black employees worked for a contractor who staffed a BMW warehouse. The EEOC says that contractor’s policy was not to employ anyone with a criminal record within the past seven years.
