Metro riders face another weekend of delays if they plan to take the Red, Orange or Blue lines because the transit agency is doing more track work.
The biggest impact will be on the Red Line. The transit agency will be shutting down the five stations on the eastern end of the Red Line — Takoma, Silver Spring, Forest Glen, Wheaton and Glenmont — from 10 p.m. Friday through Sunday.
Metro will run free shuttle buses from Glenmont to Fort Totten and all the stations in between, which the agency estimates takes about 30 minutes extra.
Meanwhile, trains will be sharing a single track between Foggy Bottom and McPherson Square on the Orange and Blue lines in downtown during that time. Metro urges riders to budget an extra 20 minutes for those trips.

But riders will get more time in one respect: Metro plans to run trains until 3 a.m. Sunday, after daylight saving time turns clocks back at 2 a.m. Sunday. “The customer gets that extra hour,” Metro spokesman Steven Taubenkibel said.
