Donald Trump called on the Obama administration Tuesday to release the 28 classified pages of the congressional 9/11 report, and said those papers will reveal the true friends and enemies of the United States.
“I do I think we should have seen it a long time ago,” Trump said of the pages during a Tuesday morning “Fox and Friends” interview. “I think I know what it’s going to say, it’s going to be very profound having to do with Saudi Arabia and Saudi Araba’s role in the attack on the World Trade Center and the attack and that’s very serious stuff.”
The business mogul went on to explain that he has long believed that the United States should not have gone to war with Iraq, and insinuated that Saudi Arabia may have been a better option.
“You know, again I’ve said it for a long time, we attacked Iraq and frankly by attacking Iraq they were not the ones who knocked down the World Trade Center. I’ve been saying that for a long time, let’s see what the paper say. I think they should have been released a long time ago, I think they’re finally going to be in some form released,” Trump said.
“You know, its nice to know who your friends are and who your enemies are,” he added. “But you’re going to see some very revealing things in those papers and I look forward to reading them.”
President Obama is traveling to Saudi Arabia on Tuesday, an event that has rekindled calls to release the 28 pages.
