Eric Greitens’ first campaign ad for governor in Missouri kicks things off with a bang.
Greitens is one of four Republicans seeking his party’s nomination for governor, and his new television ad features him firing a gun at an unidentified explosive until it bursts into flames.
“For too long Missouri has been run by career politicians, owned by corrupt consultants, high-paid lobbyists, and special interests,” Greitens says in the ad. “Well I’m no career politician, I’m a Navy SEAL. And I’ll take dead aim at politics as usual.”
After the explosion caused by his gunshots, Greitens adds, “If you’re ready for a conservative outsider, I’m ready to fire away.”
Greitens has never run for office before and will square off against former Missouri House Speaker Catharine Hanaway, Lt. Gov. Peter Kinder, and businessman John Brunner in the August GOP primary. All four candidates participated in a televised debate on Monday night.
