Loudoun Times-Mirror, Loudoun Independent newspapers to merge

The Loudoun Times-Mirror and Loudoun Independent — two journalism mainstays in the outer D.C. suburb — are merging.

“Everything our readers now love about both the Times-Mirror and the Independent will continue and just become better, more robust and richer in both news and content quality,” said Peter Arundel, President & CEO of Times Community News, a unit of privately owned ArCom Publishing Inc.

Nicholas Graham, editor-at-large of the Times-Mirror, has been named executive editor of both the Times-Mirror and the Independent.

The company plans to publish the Times-Mirror on Wednesdays and The Independent on Fridays.
