Howard County officials are expected to announce this week how they will enforce the smoking ban going into effect for all establishments June 1.
Health Officer Dr. Peter Beilenson and Police Chief Bill McMahon will join Howard County Executive Ken Ulman for the announcement at 3 p.m. Wednesday at MiCasa Mexican Restaurant on St. Johns Lane in Ellicott City.
In addition, restaurant owner Chander Tschand will describe the health concerns for his employees and patrons that prompted his decision to prohibit smoking before the June date.
