The name change, which momentarily read, “U.S. Ambassador to Israel, the West Bank and Gaza,” may have implied that President Biden, unlike his predecessor, does not recognize these regions as belonging to Israel, returning the U.S. to an Obama-era view of limited Israeli control in the Middle East.
