Marjorie Taylor Greene: McConnell and wife are ‘bought and paid for by China’

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene told Alex Jones of InfoWars that Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell and his wife, Elaine Chao, are “fully bought and paid for by China” on Sunday.

“Mitch McConnell, he lies to your face. He says he’s a republican. He’s the leader in the Senate of the Republican Party, but he’s married to Elaine Chao, and they’re fully bought and paid for by China on record. And everyone knows it, but no one does anything about it,” Greene told the controversial host.

Chao, who was born in Taiwan, is the former U.S. secretary of transportation and secretary of labor. She also made history by being the first-ever Asian American woman appointed to a presidential cabinet.

Greene’s comments were in response to a question from Jones, who asked, “Who is more evil, somebody like AOC that’s an admitted communist … or is somebody like Mitch McConnell more evil because he claims he’s with us but he makes sure that that power structure stays in place?”

“There’s a big comparison there,” said Greene.

“I would say AOC is definitely anti-American. She’s against our American ways. She’s a communist. She’s honest about it though, she’ll tell you.”

After her claims about McConnell and Chao, Jones added, “They’re literally on the payroll of the CCP,” to which Greene said, “Absolutely they are, and so are many others.”

The Washington Examiner reached out to the offices of McConnell, Greene, and Ocasio-Cortez but did not receive comments.

Last month, Greene told Steve Bannon on his War Room podcast that her colleague, Rep. Liz Cheney, “has a very conservative voting record. More conservative than some of my Republican colleagues, by the way.”

The comment came just before a resolution was passed by the Republican National Committee to censure both Cheney and Rep. Adam Kinzinger. The censure was partially because of the pair’s role on the Jan. 6 committee, charged with investigating the 2021 Capitol breach.
