Matt Doud has followed his vision.
Ever since he was a child, Doud dreamed of starting a business with his friend Ed Callahan.
Today, the two have molded that vision into Planit Inc., a prominent Baltimore-based interactive, advertising, public relations, branding and animation company. Blending his skill as a writer, Doud, the president of Planit, combined with Callahan?s artistic ability to get the company off the ground about 13 years ago. The focus that Doud preaches is one of developing creative ideas that transform.
Today, he is proud to be defined by not only the company he has built, but also his wife Sylvia and two sons Henry and Charlie, who make up the most important part of this life.
Q What is the most important thing you learned coming into this job?
A Talk less and listen more.
Listen to your co-workers, listen to your clients, but most importantly, listen to your instincts. One can only truly make smart decisions when you have considered all the things that influence you. Ideas are all around us, we just need to shut up sometimes to hear them.
Q What is the project you are most proud of?
A That is like asking who is your favorite child … I am proud of everything that goes through Planit?s doors. Whether a social marketing campaign, a new product launch, a branding effort, a PR initiative or a cutting edge new media strategy … I am proud to put Planit?s name on all of my team?s work.
Q What is are your future goals for the company?
A Continued smart growth.
Planit has grown to be Baltimore?s third largest agency by anticipating the advertising landscape and being at the forefront of change. This allows us to help our clients do the same.
Leveraging traditional strategies and tactics with new media and technology has differentiated us. We plan to continue this trend … here in Baltimore and beyond.
