An adviser to Donald Trump has reportedly confirmed that the former president’s planned announcement for Tuesday will still be held and told people to “buckle up” ahead of the announcement.
The adviser claimed that members of the media have “all moved in unison against Donald Trump at their own peril” after the GOP experienced less than stellar results from the midterm elections, according to NBC News.
“It’s like they want to recreate 2015-2016,” the adviser said. “Let them. We are doing it again. Buckle up.”

Some members of the party, such as former House Speaker Paul Ryan, have blamed Trump’s influence on the party for the GOP’s underwhelming performance on Tuesday, with other GOP members calling for the party to move on from the former president.
Another former House speaker for the GOP, Newt Gingrich, stated on Wednesday that he believes Trump might be reconsidering his plans for 2024 due to the outcome of the midterm elections. Gingrich added that Trump is a “very, very smart man” but that the former president was aware of the changing political landscape.
