DoorDash users will now be able to request COVID-19 collection tests to doorsteps in several cities across the country, the food delivery company said on Monday.
DoorDash is partnering with digital health companies Vault Health and Everlywell to supply tests that received emergency use authorization from the Food and Drug Administration to those who place an order through its mobile app, DoorDash said in a readout.
Cities included in the initiative are Baltimore, Chicago, Cleveland, Dallas, Denver, Minneapolis, and Phoenix. The company plans to expand the testing delivery option to other municipalities later this year.

Vault Health’s COVID-19 Saliva Test Kit or Everlywell COVID-19 Test Home Collection Kit DTC will be available in “12 DashMart locations across the U.S.,” which is DoorDash’s virtual convenience store service.
DashMart started in August at select locations and serves as a virtual convenience store that only DoorDash employees and drivers can access. Users browse the virtual online store and place items in their carts before completing the online purchase.
“Through DashMart, Vault Health and Everlywell are able to leverage DoorDash’s fulfillment centers and leading technology platform to provide on-demand access with average delivery in less than an hour to their diagnostic mail-in tests for the first time,” DoorDash said.
Those who purchase test kits will complete their swabs or spit tests and place a sample in a closed container into a provided envelope. Users then place the envelope in a mailbox and await a same-day pickup to render quick test results within 48 hours.
The Vault test and Everlywell test will be available for $119 and $109, respectively, and may be eligible for reimbursement with healthcare insurance, DoorDash said.
The initiative will provide members of the public with more options to locate COVID-19 test kits besides commuting to a physician or pharmacy.
