Oprah Winfrey does not plan to run against President Trump in the 2020 election.
“I will never run for public office,” the famous talk show host told The Hollywood Reporter’s “Awards Chatter” podcast. “That’s a pretty definitive thing.”
Winfrey, who supported Clinton in the 2016 election, said she doesn’t know if she could beat Trump.
“I don’t know the answer to that,” she responded. “But I’ll never have to know the answer to that because I will never run for public office.”
In March, Drudge Report founder Matt Drudge said a Trump-Oprah matchup “would be the most epic race in American history.”
Trump has said in the past that Winfrey would be his ideal running mate.
