Showtime Roger Ailes series bombs in premiere ratings

Showtime’s newest series The Loudest Voice about Fox News founder Robert Ailes had a small audience for its Sunday night premiere.

The show only had 299,000 total viewers and had 47,000 in the 25-54 age demographic, according to Nielsen Media Research.

The Loudest Voice features Oscar winner Russell Crowe as Ailes with other big names, including Seth MacFarlane, Sienna Miller, and Naomi Watts. The show is based on Gabriel Sherman’s 2014 bestseller The Loudest Voice in the Room: How the Brilliant, Bombastic Roger Ailes Built Fox News – and Divided a Country and it documents the rise of Fox News and the allegations of sexual misconduct that plagued Ailes.

Showtime is claiming that The Loudest Voice actually had an audience of 651,000 viewers. They reached that number when you add up the 10 p.m. June 30 audience, plus replays, streaming, and on-demand, according to Deadline.
