Book Bash features more than 50 authors

More than 50 local and national authors will attend this Sunday?s Book Bash at Greetings and Readings in Hunt Valley.

Kerry Dunnington, author of cookbook “This Book Cooks,” will be sampling some of her recipes, including her popular cheese curry pate with plum sauce. One of the only authors who attended the Book Bash last year, Dunnington says the event is wonderful. “I think it?s a fabulous way to meet authors and eat food,” she said. “It?s like going to 50 cocktail parties and meeting all these interesting people.”

Harford county resident E.D. Baker, author of the Frog Princess series for ages 8 and up, recently published her fourth book in the series, “No Place for Magic.” Her books have been published in 11 countries. “It?s really neat, you can meet lots of authors, get books signed and see what?s out there,” she said. “You can meet the people behind it all.”

Literacy Works? executive director Helene Waranch said that they are expecting 600 to 700 people this year. “Last year, we raised over $100,000,” she said. “We?d like to do the same this year.”

Book Bash is on Nov. 12 from 6 to 9 p.m. Tickets are $60 to $70 and can be obtained by visiting www.literacyworksinc.com or calling 410-887-2001
