CLEVELAND — Oklahoma Gov. Mary Fallin preached a message of party unity onstage at the GOP convention on Thursday.
Fallin, once thought to be a leading contender for Donald Trump’s running mate, urged Republicans to unite around a common set of beliefs about specific issues, namely fixing the national debt, protecting the borders, defending Israel, having a pro-life attitude, and honoring the military.
“As a party, we don’t agree 100 percent on everything. That’s OK. We don’t have to,” Fallin said. “We invite every American who believes in these principles and longs for an end to division and wants to make America one again to join us in electing Donald Trump as president of the United States.”
Fallin proselytized not only on behalf of the Republican Party, but also for the nation. The governor noted that people are longing for the American dream and said, “We must ‘make America one again.'”
