Retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson promised this weekend that Donald Trump’s proposed tax plan would be the greatest stimulus the U.S. has seen since President Franklin Delano Roosevelt’s “New Deal.”
“First of all, [Trump’s plan] would be the biggest stimulus package since FDR’s New Deal. Number two, it gets businesses corporations once again interested in reaching out to the communities and helping people in the communities,” Carson said Saturday in an interview with CNN.
Cason, who did the interview Saturday outside his childhood home in Detroit, said Trump’s plan would bring “billions of dollars that are overseas” back into the United States, and added that cash could then be invested in American communities.
Trump toured Detroit Saturday as part of his campaign’s latest effort to court African-American voters.
