Democratic presidential hopeful and California Rep. Eric Swalwell compared the Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election to attacks and tragedies on America after President Trump had a call with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
In a tweet on Wednesday, Swalwell asks why Trump had a call with Putin after the Mueller report was released since President Franklin D. Roosevelt did not call the Japanese after Pearl Harbor and President George W. Bush did not call Osama Bin Laden after 9/11.
Remember that time Pearl Harbor was bombed and FDR called the Emperor of Japan? Or the time the Twin Towers were struck and Bush ringed Osama Bin Laden? No? I don’t either. So why’d @realDonaldTrump call Putin after the Mueller Report was released? #CommanderInCheat

Swalwell had also tweeted the United States was attacked in 2016.
Why do we need the full Mueller report from AG Barr?
We were attacked.
The most BASIC function of government is to protect its people from foreign attack.
If we let Barr neglect that obligation – or flat out refuse it – then we are not actually a government. #ImpeachBarr

More than 2,300 U.S. military personnel were killed when Imperial Japan launched a surprise attack on the military bases and ships in Pearl Harbor. Over 2,900 Americans were killed during the terrorist attacks on Sept. 11, 2001.
Swalwell’s campaign did not provide a comment in time for publication.
