A fast-moving fire killed several lambs and destroyed a Frederick County barn, the Frederick News-Post reports.
The blaze broke out at Monday night at the 100-foot-long barn, a deputy fire marshal told the newspaper.
The fire moved so quickly that firefighters couldn’t attack it from inside the barn. There was no fire hydrant on the farm, so crews hauled in 50,000 gallons of water to battle the fire.
The cause of the blaze is under investigation.
No people were injured, and livestock kept outside the barn were unharmed.
