Maddow: Trump embodied ‘all of the worst stereotypes’ of Americans during European trip

MSNBC host Rachel Maddow told late night host Seth Meyers President Trump acted like a stereotypical American tourist during his recent trip overseas to Europe.

“You were so good, though. When you described him as like every American tourist thing that anybody has ever done wrong anywhere in the world, he’s doing them all at once like that’s exactly what he was,” Maddow said. “When you described him that way, I was like, that’s what he’s doing. He’s embodying all of the worst stereotypes that everybody in the world has about dumb Americans. And he’s living them large.”

“Yeah, well you can tell [European leaders] look at him and they’re not saying,”Uh, I’ve met a guy like this before.’ They’re like, ‘I’ve met a guy like this before, but it was 100 different guys,'” Meyers said.

Trump made a state visit to the United Kingdom and attended a ceremony in France to mark the 75th anniversary of the landings on D-Day during World War II. He also made a stop in Ireland, where he said Brexit will be good for the country’s border wall with the U.K.

“Probably you’ll ask me about Brexit because I just left some very good people who are very involved with Brexit, as you know,” Trump said. “And I think it will all work out very well, and also for you with your wall, your border.

“I mean, we have a border situation in the United States, and you have one over here. But I hear it’s going to work out very well here,” he said.
