<br/></div> <p>One person was killed in a five-vehicle crash involving a Metrobus that closed down Rockville Pike in both directions late Wednesday afternoon, authorities said.</p> <p>At least 12 people were injured, and Montgomery County Police spokeswoman Officer Janelle Smith said one of them had died.</p> <p>The crash happened about 4:15 p.m. just north of Cedar Lane, according to Montgomery County Fire & Rescue.</p> <p>A J9 Metrobus apparently swerved to avoid an oncoming vehicle in the other direction, Metro spokesman Dan Stessel said.</p> <p>Firefighters were extricating the bus driver from the crashed bus, authorities said.</p> <p>Both lanes of Rockville Pike were closed down, with traffic backed up for a mile or more, authorities said.</p>
