The Republican National Committee has launched a new website soliciting feedback from its voters about the GOP platform.
In a statement, the RNC implored voters to “review and rank the issues and offer their say in the content of the platform.” But “immigration” and “illegal immigration” are not explicitly included among the list of issues to be ranked in the platform, even though it’s the hallmark of GOP presumptive nominee Donald Trump’s presidential bid.
“With the launch of Platform.gop, every Republican has an opportunity to share with our platform committee their views on the issues that are most important to them,” said RNC chairman Reince Priebus in the statement. “While Democrats are letting party insiders write their platform behind closed doors, Platform.gop is proof of our Party’s philosophy of listening to the voice of the people and honoring the democratic process.”
The platform committee for this summer’s convention will be chaired by Wyoming Sen. John Barrasso, and co-chaired by Oklahoma Gov. Mary Fallin and North Carolina Congresswoman Virginia Foxx. Barrasso and Fallin have endorsed Trump, and Foxx has expressed a willingness to support the GOP nominee.
