An F-16 jet crashed outside Joint Base Andrews in Maryland Wednesday morning and a pilot in the plane ejected from the aircraft, the Air Force confirmed.
An Air Force official said the crash took place about two miles south of Andrews near Clinton, Md., and about six miles away from National Harbor.
The local ABC news affiliate tweeted photos of the pilot, showing him to be OK.
“I’m told his primary concern was for safety of those on the ground,” Brad Bell, Maryland bureau chief for ABC 7 News, tweeted.
