Sen. Rand Paul attacked the hosts of The View hours after he appeared on the show last Friday. He made the scathing remarks during an interview with Andrew Wilkow on SiriusXM’s The Wilkow Majority.
“Oh my goodness, was I on The View,” Paul stated. “You can’t even get a word in edgewise. Those women go on and on yelling and screaming, and it was just amazing.”
The Kentucky Republican singled out Ana Navarro, who serves as a part-time host. During Paul’s appearance, he and Navarro got into a heated back-and-forth debating socialism in Venezuela. The two repeatedly talked over one another before Navarro accused Paul of “mansplain[ing].”
“Ana Navarro thinks she knows a lot about Venezuela, and so she goes on and on,” Paul continued. “She says, ‘Well, it’s not socialism, it’s not socialism. He was a thug and a murderer.’ And I’m going, ‘No, no, no, no, no. It was the socialist party. Chávez was elected as a socialist. Maduro is a socialist.’”
He continued, “Like, ‘No, no, no, he’s a thug,’ and she wouldn’t let me finish. But the point was this: Yes he’s a thug. I wasn’t denying that. Everyone knows Maduro and Chávez both are thugs. It’s thuggery. But they were socialists.”
