Controversial Group Still Hasn’t Released Hagel Tape

Published

As we reported yesterday, a speech that Chuck Hagel failed to include in his Senate disclosure was in fact video taped–and the tape still exists! But the group, the Arab-American Anti-Discrimination Committee (ADC), that hosted the Hagel speech said it could take until Friday for the video to be released.

When reached this morning on the phone, the communications director for the ADC confirmed to THE WEEKLY STANDARD that Hagel did speak at the conference that year. “They were very informal, not prepared remarks,” says Raed Jarrar.
More important, Mr. Jarrar said a video of the remarks exists, but that the organization is unable to find it at this time. We are “trying to find it in our archives,” Mr. Jarrar said. He hopes the video can be found at the end of this week.

That was yesterday. Today, the ADC refused to respond to an email asking if the video had been found. If it has been found, the video has not yet been released.
