An inmate at the Prince William County Adult Detention Center is accused of assaulting a guard at the facility.
Prince William County police said Wednesday that 29-year-old Duane Jason Middleton repeatedly struck a 30-year-old corrections officer in the face on March 17, shortly after 4 p.m.
The officer and other inmates subdued Middleton, police said. The officer, whose name was not released, was taken to a hospital for treatment.
The jail is located at 9340 Lee Ave. in Manassas.
