Alexandria woman missing since 2006

No one has seen or heard from Qaisra Khan since 2006.

The 56-year-old Alexandria woman — who was 50 when she disappeared — was last seen at her house on the 6200 block of William Edgar Drive in the city’s Franconia neighborhood, according to the National Missing and Unidentified Persons System.

The Pakistani native has a medical condition and requires medication. At the time of her disappearance, Fairfax County police cautioned that she may appear confused and added that she speaks very little English. She also goes by the name Qaisra Shahbaz, police said.

Family members told police at the time that they believed Khan may have wandered away from her home and said they were concerned for her safety.

When she left her house on August 26, 2006, she left behind her credit card, cellphone, passport and even her shoes.

Khan was last seen wearing a dark green and black traditional Indian-Pakistani dress with a light green shawl. She is described as 5 feet 3 inches tall and weighing 150 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. She has scars on her right heel and pierced ears.

Today, nearly six years after her disappearance, Fairfax County police said they have no explanation as to why Khan disappeared and no idea where she is.

Anyone with information on Khan or her whereabouts should call Fairfax County police at 703-691-2131 or Crime Solvers at 866-411-8477.
