ROANOKE, Va. (AP) — Four John Eye/Big Sandy stores in southern West Virginia are being acquired by Grand Home Furnishings.
Media outlets report that the Roanoke-based furniture retailer plans to acquire four John Eye/Big Sandy stores in Beckley, Lewisburg, Princeton and Summersville. The stores are part of the Ohio-based Big Sandy Superstore chain.
Grand has an existing store in both Beckley and Lewisburg. The company plans to move its Beckley store to the John Eye/Big Sandy location. The Lewisburg John Eye/Big Sandy store will be closed.
The deal is expected to close in August. A purchase price wasn’t disclosed.
Grand CEO Randy Lundy says the company hopes to hire 65 to 70 John Eye/Big Sandy employees.
Grand currently operates 17 stores in Virginia, West Virginia and Tennessee.
