Melania Trump claimed Monday that her husband was pressured into making lewd remarks in a 2005 video that showed him bragging about sexually accosting women.
“I said to my husband that you know the language was [inappropriate],” Trump’s third wife said Monday on CNN.
“It’s not acceptable and I was surprised, because that is not the man that I know. And as you can see from the tape, the cameras were not on. It was only a mic. And I wonder if they even knew that the mic was on. Because they were kind of — ah — boy talk. And he was led on. Like egg on from the host to say, uh, dirty and bad stuff,” she said.
She also claimed that “Access Hollywood” host Billy Bush manipulated her husband into bragging about grabbing women “by the pussy.”
“Yes. Yes,” Trump said when asked if she blamed Bush for egging her husband on.
She said the language Trump used wasn’t language she was used to hearing from her husband.
“No, no that’s why I was surprised,” she said. “Because I said, like, I don’t know that person that would talk that way. And that he would say that kind of stuff in private. I’ve heard many different stuff, boys talk. I — the boys, the way they talk when they grow up and they want to sometimes show each other, ‘Oh, this and that,’ and talking about the girls and, but I was surprised, of course.”
This is Melania Trump’s first interview since the Washington Post published a report earlier this month revealing the GOP nominee once bragged about leveraging his celebrity status in return for sexual favors from women, some of them married.
Video included in the report showed Trump saying to Bush, “You know I’m automatically attracted to beautiful — I just start kissing them. It’s like a magnet. Just kiss. I don’t even wait,”
“And when you’re a star they let you do it. You can do anything.” “Grab them by the pussy,” Trump said. “You can do anything.”
The GOP nominee also recounted how he tried to sleep with one unidentified married woman.
“I moved on her and I failed. I’ll admit it. I did try and fuck her. She was married,” Trump told Bush.
“And I moved on her very heavily. In fact, I took her out furniture shopping. She wanted to get some furniture. I said, ‘I’ll show you where they have some nice furniture,'” he said. “I moved on her like a b—-h, but I couldn’t get there. And she was married. Then all of a sudden I see her, she’s now got the big phony tits and everything. She’s totally changed her look.”
Bush plays along with the conversation, which was apparently recorded without either of them knowing it, and interjected to cheer Trump’s anecdotes.
The 2005 audio was recorded just months after Trump and Melania married. At the time Trump bragged about trying to bed other women, Melania was three months pregnant with their son, Barron.
