Two dead in Prince William crashes
Authorities said two people died early Sunday after a pair of fatal accidents in western Prince William County.
An adult male pedestrian died near Lee Highway and Old Carolina Road in Gainesville after being struck before 6 a.m. by a car traveling on Lee Highway. Police said no one else was injured in the accident.
Less than an hour later, police said, an adult male lost control of his motorcycle on Bristow Road in Brentsville and ran into a tree. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
Man sought in jewelry store slaying
Police in Arlington County are searching for a suspect in a robbery attempt that turned deadly.
Police said the suspect in the robbery of a Columbia Pike jewelry store is a black male thought to be in his 50s. Surveillance cameras showed the man of medium build and about 5 feet, 7 inches tall wearing a neon-colored traffic vest during the incident.
Authorities found a 52-year-old Herndon man dead inside the store late Friday after his family reported that he had not come home from work. Police said the robbery took place at about 4 p.m.
No leads in Southeast stabbing
D.C. police said Sunday that they have no leads regarding a suspect in a Saturday night stabbing in Southeast Washington.
Police responded to the 800 block of Chesapeake Street after a black male was stabbed in the neck. The victim, who was conscious and breathing when police arrived, was transported to an area hospital.
An update on his condition wasn’t immediately available.
