Trump: I am ‘least racist person there is’

Donald Trump responded Saturday to Mitt Romney’s claim that his presidency will legitimize racism, tweeting out that support from fight promoter Don King and other African-Americans proves he isn’t racist.

“Mitt Romney had his chance to beat a failed president but he choked like a dog. Now he calls me racist — but I am least racist person there is,” the presumptive GOP nominee tweeted early Saturday.

Romney said on CNN on Friday that Trump’s presidency could legitimize racism, bigotry and misogyny.

“I don’t want to see trickle-down racism,” he said. “I think his comments time and again appeal to the racist tendency in some people and I think that is very dangerous.”

Romney’s comments came after a week where Republicans heavily criticized Trump for questioning whether a judge in a Trump University lawsuit could be impartial because of his Mexican heritage.

Trump also called out that he has support from African-Americans that proves he isn’t racist.

“Don King and so many other African-Americans who know me well and endorsed me, would not have done so if they thought I was a racist!” he tweeted.

King Friday told the New York Daily News he has not endorsed Trump.
